We’ll have two packed, fun filled workshop days in an intimate environment, which covers beginning as well as advanced topics. This class includes making (head, hands, and feet) armatures for body and a soft sculpted body. Having some knowledge of human anatomy will greatly enhance the experience in this class. We’ll be working on a 14" doll and learning the fundamental elements and construction of the doll, from armature building, hardware design/construction and placement, to assembly for positioning with artist Kim Wilson.
· Introduction to doll design starting with a scale doll blueprint to work from, emphasis on anatomy
· Discussion of different materials and their assets and detractions
· Head construction and proportions for character design
· Hands and feet (or shoes)

· Basic wool hair
· Putting the doll together!
Everything is provided during this two-day class, which include polyclay, hardware and body wiring and stuffing. In this class format, each participant should leave with a roughly sculpted doll able to stand on its own, minus the costume. Further refinements and sculpting is intended to continue at home.
